Accessing Navigate

  How do I access Navigate?

Students can access Navigate in two different ways.

  • Download the app on your mobile device.
  • Login to the desktop version of Navigate via Wavenet. Use your Pepperdine login credentials to login to Wavenet and click on Navigate under Popular Links.

Faculty will access Navigate Staff via Wavenet. Use your Pepperdine login credentials to login to Wavenet,go to the Faculty Center, and click on Navigate Home Page under Other Links.

Is the desktop version the same as the app?

Virtually all of the features of the app and the desktop platform are the same except the Academic Planner. Students can only use the desktop platform to access the Academic Planner tool, which is used for building your four-year plan and planning your course schedule.

Academic Planner

  What is an academic plan?

An academic plan is your road map to completing your degree on time. This is the plan you will follow based on your major and interests.

Can I make a four-year plan on the Navigate app?

No, you can’t use the app to create a four year plan.  You need to use the desktop platform and click on the Planner link along the top of the home page.  We highly recommend using the Academic Planning tool within Navigate to work collaboratively with your advisor and create an academic plan that works best for you.

Can my advisor see the academic plan I am building in Navigate?

Yes, your advisor can see your academic plan, as well as offer comments or suggestions.

What does it mean when a course is pinned?

A pinned course is one that has been planned for the future, either by the student or by an advisor.

What does it mean when a course is matched?

If a course is matched it means that it fulfills or meets a requirement of a major template.

Why is it not showing the AP or transfer credits I have completed?

Unfortunately, your Data Audit Report (DAR) is not reflected within the Navigate platform. You should use Wavenet to access your DAR. Our recommended practice is to use a separate window to reference your DAR while working in the Academic Planning tool.

Can I register for classes through Navigate?

Navigate is a planning tool that allows you to prepare for registration. You will be directed to login to Wavenet to register for classes.

Will I see the comments, changes or suggestions made by my advisor?

Yes! You will receive a notification any time your advisor makes changes or offers a suggestion. You will be prompted to either accept or decline these, and doing so will automatically update your academic plan accordingly.

Once my academic plan is complete, does that make it final and register me for classes?

No. Once you are ready to register, you will need to click on the “register” button on the top right hand corner of the page which will open a new browser tab and take you to the shopping cart where you will enter the course numbers to register for classes.

Availability / Appointments

How can I find out who my Faculty Advisor and One Stop Advisor are?

Your advisors are part of your care team, which you can find by clicking “Resources” and then selecting the “People” tab.

If I don’t see my advisor listed when I go to make an appointment, what do I do?

If you do not see your advisor listed, that advisor has not yet entered their availability in the Navigate platform. We recommend you message your advisor and let them know that you attempted to make an appointment on Navigate and work with them to schedule an appointment.
