Graduation Clearance (Graduate)
Follow these steps to ensure that you are clear to graduate. Seaver College has one commencement ceremony per year. This ceremony is held at the end of the spring term. Students whose degrees were posted in the previous fall or summer term are also eligible to participate. Please note that it is in the tradition of Seaver College that because master's graduates wear hoods, they do not receive honor cords.
Step 1: Be sure you meet these basic graduation requirements for a master's degree:
- At least a 3.0 grade point average
- Successful completion of your thesis or research project (if required)
- Graduate students are not allowed to participate in the ceremony unless all requirements have been met including the approval of their thesis (if applicable) by their thesis committee and the Dean of the College.
Step 2: Submit your Intent to Graduate
If you meet all the above requirements, please fill out the Intent to Graduate form, found on the Policies and Thesis Guidelines web page under the Additional Documents section. Email the completed Intent to Graduate form to your respective program’s coordinator.
