Natural Science Scholarships
The following scholarships are available for students in the Natural Science Division during the academic year. Scholarship applications are usually submitted in late February or early March for awarding in the subsequent academic year. Specific information regarding the application process for each scholarship is made available on this web site in early February.

Natural Science Division Scholarship
These awards are available to all students of the Natural Science Division and are designed to reward students for meritorious academic performance and service to the Division.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must have completed 30 credit hours prior to the start of the subsequent academic year
- Must have one of the following academic majors: BIOL, CHEM, COSC, MATH, NASC, NUTR, PHYS or SPME
- Minimum Pepperdine cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Minimum cumulative major GPA of 3.0
Edison International Scholarship
The Edison International Scholarship is available for chemistry, computer science, math, 3/2 engineering, and physics majors. There is no application process as the recipients are selected by the natural science chairperson based upon their academic performance in the major and service to the division.
Student must apply for the Natural Science Division Scholarship in order to be considered to receive funding from Edison International Scholarship.
Flora Laney Thornton Scholarship
The Flora Laney Thornton Scholarship is available for nutritional science majors. There is no application process as the recipients are selected by the nutritional science faculty based upon their academic performance in the major.
Darnell Scholarship
The Darnell Scholarship is available for computer science majors. There is no application process as the recipients are selected by the computer science faculty based upon their academic performance in the major.
Litton Endowed Scholarship
The Litton Endowed Scholarship is available for computer science majors. There is no application process as the recipients are selected by the computer science faculty based upon their academic performance in the major. Awardees will be expected to attend a luncheon with Litton representatives.
First Year Scholarships
The Natural Science Division grants most of its scholarship awards to students who have completed 30 or more units at Pepperdine and successfully demonstrated superior academic performance at Pepperdine and specifically in Natural Science Division courses. To reward exceptional entering or freshman students for their prior academic success, the Division may offer a limited number of $1,000 scholarships annually. Scholarship awards to matriculating students are based upon the student's admission materials, prior academic performance and faculty recommendation; there is no application to submit for the freshman or entering student scholarship awards.
