English Program Learning Outcomes
A student who graduates with a major in English should be able to:
- Critique and interpret English and American literary texts, including those with ethnic,
gender, and cultural diversity.
- Communicate an understanding of rhetorical, composition, or literary theory and integrate
that understanding in papers that reflect best practices in English.
- Employ sophisticated critical thinking, research, discussion, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrate the skill to engage a text from a spiritual, moral and ethical perspective.
