Accept/Decline

Instructions to Accept/Decline/Reduce Awards

This feature will open on May 15, 2025 for the 2025-2026 academic year. 

  1. To Accept/Decline your award log into Wavenet: https://wavenet.pepperdine.edu.
  2. For newly admitted students: Click on the "Applicant Center" link under the Applicant Services heading, located near the top-left of the page.      For returning students: Click on the "Student Center" link under the Student Services heading, located near the top-left of the page.
  3. Scroll down to the Finances section at the bottom of the page. Click on the "Accept/DeclineAwards" link under the Financial Aid subheading.
  4. At the Financial Aid page, click on the link for the correct award year
  5. The Award Summary page allows you to view your financial aid award.
  6. Click on either Accept or Decline for each item. If you want to reduce the amount of an item, you will need to first accept the item and then input the reduced amount.
  7. If you accept the Federal Direct Loan, you will need to complete a Loan Agreement for a Subsidized/Unsubsidized Loan (MPN) online at https://studentloans.gov. The student will need to sign into the website with their FSA ID.
  8. First time Federal Direct Loan borrowers will need to complete Entrance Counseling which will be listed in the To Do List.
  9. Additional Loan Eligibility - Additional credit-based loans are available if needed. The loan amount borrowed cannot exceed the Additional Loan Eligibility amount that is listed on your Financial Assistance Notification in WaveNet.  If you feel you need to borrow more, please contact a Financial Assistance Advisor at finaid2@pepperdine.edu before you apply for the loan. 

    All credit-based loans require a separate application process, including a credit check.  After Pepperdine has received an approved application the loan funds will only be available to apply toward institutional charges.  

    Federal Direct Parent PLUS Loan (Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students) 
    The Federal Government is the lender for the Federal Direct PLUS Loan program.  The loan is credit-based and borrowed under the parent’s name.  The parent that wants to borrow the loan will need to sign into studentaid.gov using their Federal Student Aid ID. At the top of the page select Loans and Grants. Next, select PLUS loans: Grad PLUS and Parent PLUS, then select I am a Parent of a Student - Learn More and complete the Apply For a Parent PLUS Loan process. The parent borrowers will also need to complete the Parent PLUS Loan Master Promissory after receiving approval for the loan.  

    Private Education Loans
    Private educational loans are credit-based on-federal loans available from a variety of national lending institutions. Visit Fast Choice Electronic List for additional information on private educational loan options.

  10. Click on the green "Submit" button at the bottom of the page.
  11. Read the Financial Assistance Terms and Conditions and then click "Yes."
  12. Click OK. Your award status should now say "Successful." If your awards cannot be successfully accepted after clicking on "Submit", try another browser or clear your browser cache before trying again. You can now exit the accept/decline page.
  13. Make sure that you review your Pepperdine email account AND your To Do List in your Applicant/Student Center on a regular basis for updates on the status of your Financial Aid.
  14. I understand I am required to Accept/Decline each of my financial assistance awards in WaveNet. Failure to accept financial aid awards within 30 days of enrollment may risk cancellation of these funds.
