Admission Interviews

The admission interview provides an opportunity for you to have a meaningful conversation with a Pepperdine admission representative, allowing the Admission Office to learn more about you. This opportunity serves as another part of Pepperdine's holistic review process and, while optional, is a great way to enhance your application.

Register for an on-campus, virtual, or regional interview!

Interview Questions

All students will be asked 3-5 of the following questions during the interview:

  • The three core values of our mission statement are purpose, service, and leadership. Can you share 1-2 of your core values and how you live these out?

  • Can you tell me something about yourself that we wouldn’t find within your application (such as something you’d like to explain on your transcript, interruptions to your educational progression, something you’re passionate about, information about your home life, or anything else)?

  • What impact do you hope to have on our campus?

  • What accomplishment from your high school career makes you the proudest?
  • Why are you interested in Pepperdine?

Transfer Students

Admission interviews will not be offered for transfer applicants. Please contact your admission counselor if you have any questions about the application process.

Please note that if you have taken college courses but have not yet graduated from high school you are considered a first-year applicant.

International Students

International applicants are defined as non-US citizens or students living outside the United States. Please ensure that you register for an interview with our international admission team; those offerings are labeled "International Student Admission Interview".

If you have previously applied to Seaver College and plan on applying for Fall 2025 through the reapplication form, we unfortunately are unable to offer you an interview. Please contact your admission counselor if you have any questions.

Who can register for an interview?

First-year applicants applying for Fall 2025 can register for an admission interview. Please note that only first-time applicants can register for an interview. If you are a reapplicant or transfer student, please email your admission counselor with any questions.

How do I register for an interview?

You can register for an interview online

What if all interview time slots are full?

Your chances of admission will not be negatively affected if you do not complete an interview.  If you are interested, we recommend keeping an eye on the interview time slots available online since there may be cancellations.

Domestic student interviews will end in early November, and international student interviews will end in December due to staff availability.

  How are interviews conducted?

Interviews will be conducted both in-person and virtually through Zoom. Please note that if you sign up for a virtual interview we will email you the Zoom link prior to your interview and you can choose to join by video or phone.

  How long are the interviews?
Interviews are 15-minutes long. Due to the high demand for admission interviews, we are unable to extend this time for any student.
Are interviews available for all majors?
Yes, first-year applicants can register for an interview regardless of intended major.
What should I wear for my interview?
We encourage you to dress however you feel most comfortable for the interview. If your interview will be conducted over Zoom, we encourage you to turn your camera on if you feel comfortable doing so.
What should I bring to my interview?
Just yourself! Please do not bring any transcripts, resumes, or other admission documents to the interview.
Who will be conducting the interview?
All interviews will be conducted by a Pepperdine admission or alumni representative. Please note that students are unable to request an interview with a specific admission representative.
At what point in the application process can I register for an interview?

Students applying for Fall 2025 can register for an interview at any point in the application process. You can register for an interview before or after submitting the Common Application.
