Global Tides

Global Tides is an online academic journal publishing Pepperdine undergraduate student papers relating to important international issues. The journal publishes once annually featuring three to five scholarly essays. The journal also includes a book review section as well as a travel report, entitled "Journeyer's Journal," in which overseas students may submit short narratives describing international experiences.

In an effort to foster awareness and informed dialogue about a broad range of international issues, submissions from students of all majors are encouraged, particularly those majoring in International Studies (all specializations), Political Science, History, Communication, Humanities, Religion, Art History, and Languages.

Submissions should constitute rigorous research pertaining to at least one non-US country or world region. Contributors may pursue topics of significance in a variety of subfields, while consistently reaching a standard of professional quality in analysis, evidence and documentation. Priority will be given to those articles that address issues of current and pressing international interest, but articles of broader scope or historical study that inform the present international situation will also be considered. Students interested in contributing to Global Tides can find more information at http://globaltides.pepperdine.edu or by contacting Dr. Amanda Rizkallah, amanda.rizkallah@pepperdine.edu
