Sustainability Program Learning Outcomes
A student who graduates with a major in sustainability should be able to:
- PLO #1: Students who complete this degree will be able to articulate the major theological, ethical, and/or philosophical issues that arise from contemporary global ecological crises.
- PLO #2: Students who complete this degree will be able to explain how vulnerable communities, whether human or nonhuman, and communities of color are disproportionately impacted by the consequences of climate change and environmental degradation.
- PLO #3: Students who complete this degree will be able to evaluate major socioeconomic, sociopolitical, and geopolitical issues that shape contemporary and future challenges related to sustainability.
- PLO #4: Students who complete this degree will demonstrate basic scientific literacy and news literacy about climate change and other contemporary sustainability challenges.
- PLO #5: Students who complete this degree will be able to use critical thinking skills to apply effective responses to sustainability-related issues, both domestically and internationally.
