Alumni Screening FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this cost?

Admission to this movie screening is free for Pepperdine alumni, students, faculty, and staff (and their guests) who complete registration on this site while seats are available. Parking, food, and beverage is not included.

How many seats can I reserve?

Seats are extremely limited for this special opportunity. Reservations are available only for Pepperdine alumni, students, faculty, and staff with their families and friends. Seats are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of two (2) tickets per alumnus/student/faculty/staff, and maximum of two (2) tickets per family/household. Also, each group must include at least one Pepperdine alumnus, student, faculty, or staff member attending. Guests may not register on their own unless they are Pepperdine alumni, students, faculty, or staff.

If you are interested in bringing more guests than your online registration permits, please contact Matt Ebeling at matt.ebeling@pepperdine.edu or (310) 506-6582 ASAP to inquire about space availability (we can often accommodate!).

When is the deadline to reserve seats for this screening?

The deadline to reserve seats for this screening is 11:00 a.m. the day before the screening date OR when all available seats have been reserved, whichever occurs first. If space is full when you attempt to register, be sure to add yourself to the wait list.

What information do I need to provide in order to register?

Before registering, please be prepared to provide the following information:

      • Your first and last name, graduating class year and school
      • First and last names of each of your guests (spelled correctly)
      • If any of your guests are alumni, please confirm their graduating year and school if known, or at least be sure to check the "alumni" box for them when filling out their

When does my party need to arrive at the theater in order to be admitted?

The event hosts have requested that all registered guests check in at the theater by no later than 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the movie. The check-in location is typically located inside the main theater lobby and is specific to the movie you are registered to see. If you are waiting in a big line, you may be in the wrong spot. Please ask a theater attendant for check-in guidance upon arrival to ensure you are in the correct place!

After registering online, do I need to get a printed ticket for entry to the theater?

No. Once you have received registration confirmation by email, the names confirmed in the email will be added to an entry list that movie reps will be using to check in attendees on the night of the screening. You will simply report to the check in table (see above for location) with your entire group at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled start of the movie, and your group will be checked in based on the name of the primary registrant. No tickets needed.

What are the seating arrangements once inside the theater? Will all of the Pepperdine attendees be grouped together?

Our Pepperdine invitees will be enjoying this screening together with many other specially invited guests. The event overall is not hosted by Pepperdine University, so you may not see any Pepperdine staff at the event or necessarily be seated in the vicinity of other Pepperdine attendees. Seating is generally open-selection, so you will have the best opportunity for preferred seating locations if you arrive at least 30 minutes prior to showtime (earlier if your group size is large). Please be understanding and courteous with movie and theater staff if your seating options are limited when you arrive or if you are not admitted due to arriving later than 30 minutes before the show.

Are there any other important things I should know?

PLEASE SHOW UP: These special arrangements will only last if we fill the seats that we have been given. Therefore, if you request tickets, please ensure that all members of your party attend the screening. If after registering, you find that any members of your party cannot attend, please notify Chad Quinones immediately at chad.quinones@pepperdine.edu so that we can still identify replacements and avoid eligibility issues for future screenings.

SECURITY: This screening could possibly involve a security check upon entry to the movie theater including but not limited to bag searches, metal detectors, and handing over any recording devices including smartphones. It is advised that you leave your cell phones in the car or be prepared to check them in at the event entrance (for pick up after the movie). Please make your guests aware of this possibility.
