Pepperdine University to Host Human-Centered AI Conference


Pepperdine University will host the Human-Centered AI Conference at the Drescher Auditorium on Pepperdine’s Malibu campus on Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing life and could play a fundamental role in building a better future for all of humanity. By bringing together different perspectives related to AI, including robotics, neuroscience, and ethics, the conference aims to spark new mindful advancements related to AI research, education, policy, and practice to improve the human condition.

The conference, made possible by Fabien Scalzo, associate professor of computer science at Seaver College, will include a keynote presentation from Stefano Soatto, vice president of artificial intelligence at Amazon Web Services, and talks by other notable speakers in the field, including Graziadio Business School professor Charla Griffy-Brown.

General admission tickets are $150. Tickets are complimentary for Pepperdine students, faculty, and staff.
