Tori Higa

Tori is inspired by her faith, family, friends, kids, flea markets, coffee shops, people watching, tea cups, sketch books, good books, textiles, and anything vintage. She especially enjoys incorporating vintage fabrics into her work which represents taking something old and set aside and giving it new life, just as God so often does with us. Her time as an art major at Pepperdine was a special and inspirational opportunity she will never forget. She says that the biggest lesson she learned there was to simply keep painting. As a student, she practiced the discipline of painting the same subject matter over and over again until it was just as she envisioned it.
