Jocelyn Davis

Originally from Denver, Colorado, Jocelyn moved to Southern California to study Art and Media Production at Pepperdine University. During her study abroad year in Italy she was challenged by the many rich artistic styles and diverse cultures, and endeavored to create work inspired by the personal growth she experienced there. Jocelyn's art plays with light and exaggerated color, reflecting a fascination with the way colors inform each other to evoke different emotions, much as a person's cultural upbringing affects their worldview. Trees hold a central and symbolic role in many of her works, representing resilience and growth; while remaining rooted, the tree always reaches to extend beyond itself.
