
Kirsten Fetah
Biography
Kirsten Fetah is a Ph.D. Candidate in Bioengineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). Previously, she earned her Master’s in Bioengineering from UCLA and BS in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley. Kirsten’s doctoral research focuses on the design and synthesis of biomimetic polymers for applications in gene delivery. Recently, she has been a featured oral presented at the American Chemical Society’s Spring 2025 Annual Meeting and a co-author on a publication in Nature Microbiology. She looks forward to her PhD defense, which is scheduled for Fall of 2025. At UCLA, Kirsten discovered her passion for teaching undergraduate students and mentoring junior researchers. She has been blessed with the opportunity to teach in three departments at UCLA, including the newly formed Institute for Society and Genetics. Additionally, she served as a Career Consultant at UCLA’s Graduate Career Services, where she gained five years of student affairs experience, advising students in their professional development. After earning her degrees at large, public institutions, Kirsten looks forward to teaching in a smaller, Christian environment. Kirsten is an active member of Vintage Church in Santa Monica and passionate about integrating faith with teaching. She is excited to incorporate her love of God into interactions with her students and guide them on their journeys with Christ.
