Choral Activities
Our Choral Program
Under the direction of Dr. Ryan Board, Pepperdine's choral program offers a choice of two main ensembles as well as other unique, small-ensemble opportunities in which to participate.
The Concert Choir
The Concert Choir, composed of 80 – 100 singers, is Seaver College's largest mixed performing ensemble. The ensemble, comprised of music majors as well as majors from across the disciplines, performs a variety of choral literature. Each year, the Concert Choir is featured in several prominent performances including:
- Founder's Day
- Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
- Pepperdine Christmas Concert
- Choral Masterworks Concert
The Pepperdine Chamber Choir
The Pepperdine Chamber Choir is Pepperdine University's top-tier vocal ensemble. This
auditioned group of music and non-music majors performs demanding vocal ensemble repertoire
of diverse styles and presents concerts locally, nationally, and internationally.
Often featured at important campus events, the Pepperdine Chamber Choir regularly
tours in the US and abroad. Recent domestic tours include California, Arkansas, Texas,
Kansas, and Missouri. The Chamber Choir has also toured Switzerland, Italy, and the
Czech Republic, and was regularly a featured group at the Prague Choral Festival.
During the spring of 2018, the Pepperdine Chamber Choir gave an invitational performance
for the Western Division Conference of the American Choral Directors Association in
Pasadena, California.
Additional Vocal Ensemble Opportunities
Under the direction of Professor Hanks, The Pickford Ensemble is a select group of instrumentalists and singers dedicated to performing contemporary art music and represents Pepperdine's finest student musicians.
