Seaver College Celebrates Three Faculty Recipients of Howard A. White Awards

Three Seaver College faculty members—associate professor of art Gretchen Batcheller, associate professor of sports medicine Hunter Paris, and Blanche E. Seaver Professor of Communication Roslyn Satchel—were named as honorees of the 2020 Howard A. White Award. In lieu of an in-person awards ceremony, Provost Rick Marrs will host a virtual roundtable on October 28 at 4 PM PT to discuss the awardees’ teaching philosophies and how they continue to support students during this particularly challenging year.

The Howard A. White annual award honors the legacy of Pepperdine University's fifth president and gifted teacher and scholar, Dr. Howard A. White, and marks the highest distinction given at Pepperdine for teaching. It recognizes outstanding educators who embody Pepperdine's commitment to excellence and  also highlight the work of teachers who inspire and challenge students to think critically and creatively. This year, a total of eight Pepperdine faculty members across all five schools were honored with the award.
