Graduating Seniors

All eligible seniors must apply for graduation in order to participate in commencement
or receive their degree. Graduation Applications will not be approved if requirements
remain on a student's Degree Audit Report (DAR). If you have questions about your
DAR or your graduation eligibility, reach out to your academic advisor or seaveracademicadvising@pepperdine.edu
Steps to Graduation Clearance:
Apply for Graduation via Wavenet
Seaver Academic Advising is responsible for approving and denying graduation applications. We open our online graduation application in Wavenet once in November of the fall term and again in January of the spring term. Without approval from Academic Advising, students cannot participate in commencement nor receive their degree.
Get Approved for Graduation
Once our application windows close, our office takes 1-2 weeks for Degree Audit Report review. From there, we notify students of graduation approval or denial. Some common reasons for denial include:
- Missing course substitutions – if a faculty advisor or divisional dean granted you course substitutions for requirements still listed on your DAR, please forward the email indicating approval to your listed academic advisor.
- Foreign Language requirements – if you have yet to take a language placement exam, please do so as soon as possible to ensure you do not need language courses in the summer.
- Internship – if an academic internship is your final requirement but you have yet to find a placement, please fill out this form indicating your intention to complete the internship in a summer term. From there, we can approve you for participation in the commencement ceremony, while requiring internship completion for degree conferral.
- Remaining upper division or total units to degree – every student is required to complete 128 units of coursework, as well as 40 units of upper division coursework. If you have units remaining, please enroll in summer courses to fulfill the unit minimums. Under no circumstances may a student participate in the commencement ceremony if enrolled in more than 12 units in the summer 2026 term.
