3rd Thursday

3rd Thursday is a monthly alumni event that travels around the greater Los Angeles area. The goal of 3rd Thursday is to engage alumni across a wide range of interests while exploring things to do in Los Angeles. Join us each 3rd Thursday for everything from succulent planting to hikes and from happy hours to popular pop ups.

Choir and Orchestra Masterworks Concert and Faculty Retiree Reception

9:30 PM Reception

Join Pepperdine music faculty and students at the annual Choir and Orchestra Masterworks Concert where we’ll celebrate the hard work of students and faculty as well as celebrate the retirement of beloved faculty members, Dr. Gary Cobb and Dr. Louise Lofquist. You’re invited to the concert in Smothers Theater and a reception following the concert in Lindhurst Auditorium. You're also invited to perform alongside Drs. Cobb and Lofquist in the concert. Dr. Cobb will play the organ in Camille Saint-Saëns’ Organ Symphony, while Dr. Lofquist will sing Johannes Brahms’ Alto Rhapsody accompanied by the tenors and basses of the choirs. Alumni joining the concert will perform Haydon’s Lord Nelson Mass plus other pieces on the program. Alumni vocalists and instrumentalists interested in performing can learn more here.

3rd Thursday : Locals Night at the Santa Monica Pier

Your alumni office invites you to join your Pepperdine family for a casual alumni reception at Rusty's on the Pier from 5-7:30 p.m., where you'll enjoy some great food at a classic and picturesque establishment that has been on the pier for decadeThen, we welcome you to continue the evening on the pier where you'll find everything from the timeless world's only solar-powered Ferris wheel to local entertainment. Every 3rd Thursday, Santa Monica is celebrating Santa Monica residents with a curated series for locals, by locals.  You'll enjoy entertainment including a car show, local DJs and live music from local bands, art exhibits, and so much more. So think about experiencing a corner of your city for an evening at the Santa Monica Pier, we can't wait to see you!

George Pepperdine College Alumni Gathering

Join your George Pepperdine College alumni family for an afternoon of storytelling, reminiscing, great food, and wonderful company on Wednesday, April 3. Hosted at The Grand Long Beach Event Center, the GPC Alumni Gathering won't be complete without you! Tickets are $28. Register and pay online using the appropriate ticket below ("Alumni Reunion Registration (Pay online $28)" or "Faculty/Staff"). *If you would prefer to pay in-person at the event, please reserve your spot by selecting the "Register online & pay at the door" ticket below, and bring payment to the event (cash or check made payable to "Pepperdine University).

The Tempest: Student Performance and Alumni Reception

Join us for the fantastic Shakespeare play, The Tempest, followed by an alumni dessert reception. Directed by Cathy Thomas-Grant, The Tempest is known as Shakespeare’s masterpiece and the last play that he ever wrote. The Tempest tells the story of loss, restoration, injury and healing, fault and forgiveness. We're excited for another great Pepperdine Fine Arts student production and we can't wait to celebrate their accomplishment with you at the show and following, at the dessert reception. Tickets purchased through this registration will be at Will Call in the Box Office at Smother's Theater, available at least 1 hour prior to the 2 p.m. show.   *Please visit the Box Office website to purchase your ticket. 

The production will also showcase the talents of Seaver College Alumni:

Paul Dufresnes ('16): Production Manager.
Yoona Lee ('23): Flutist.
Haley Ruby ('22) : Hair, makeup, and costume needs.
Jeremy Zerbe ('21): Composer, playing the cello and celesta.

Harbor: Alumni Dessert Reception

The annual tradition, Harbor: The Pepperdine Bible Lectures, returns to the Malibu campus  April 30 - May 3, 2024! All Pepperdine alumni are invited to a special outdoor evening dessert reception on Harbor’s opening night, Tuesday, April 30, 8 PM - 9:30 PM at the Phillips Plaza Terrace adjacent to Smothers Theatre. Visit with fellow alumni and staff for coffee and sweets! There will be many Pepperdine alumni, faculty, and staff from around the world on campus for Harbor: The Pepperdine Bible Lectures.  We can’t wait to see you!

Whether you’re coming back to Heidelberg to relive your study abroad experience or you’re visiting the first time and excited to travel with your Pepperdine community, we’re delighted to have you.

Celebrate Pepperdine Friends (Recap Video)

The Seaver College Class of 1972-1976 returned to Malibu May 5 - May 7 for a beautiful reunion weekend in Malibu, filled with wonderful memories, fellowship, music and much more. Celebrating 50 years as Pepperdine Alumni, the first graduating classes at the Malibu campus, shared stories, explored the campus, and reconnected with their affinity groups. The Seaver and George Pepperdine College Alumni Relations team was so honored to help make this special reunion come to life. Thank you to our alumni, and a special thank you to the reunion planning committee; Ralph Beck ('74), Bob Bland  ('73), Steve Colvard ('75) and Pam Colvard ('80), Chris and Sandy Stivers('76).

Waves of World Vision for Ukraine | May 26

The Office of Seaver-GPC Alumni Relations hosted a special virtual event with the Christian humanitarian organization, World Vision on May 26.  The panel discussed World Vision's response to the conflict in Ukraine. This hour was dedicated to learning more about the crisis, connecting with World Vision's subject matter experts--including some of our own alumni--to address questions, and praying for governing leaders as well as our brothers and sisters affected by this disaster.

This holiday themed event with Ezai Floral Designs hosted by Yen Nguyen, included a lesson in how-to create fresh and festive wreaths. Guests enjoyed light refreshments, and took home their own creation of a 16-18" grapevine base wreath to proudly display for the season.
