Orientation: General Information
What is New Student Orientation?
New Student Orientation (NSO) is a program intentionally designed for incoming students and their parents. The program will include information on academics, student activities, student services, living on campus, international programs, and much more. University administrators, faculty, staff, and upper-division students will be available throughout the program to answer all of your questions about college life. NSO begins Thursday, January 5, 2017 for all students. NSO ends for parents on Friday, January 8, 3 PM. Classes begin Monday, January 8. All new students are required to attend New Student Orientation.
Who Attends New Student Orientation?
NSO is designed for new students who intend to enroll at Seaver College and their parents or other family members. A majority of the students attending NSO will be accompanied by one or more parents; however, there will be several students attending without parents. In addition, there will be faculty members and selected upper-division students present to assist with academic advising and answer any questions.
The NSO schedule will be posted here in November.
Check in Location and Starting Time
NSO will take place for all students on the Seaver College Malibu campus. Check-in is in the Howard A. White Center (HAWC), from 7:30 - 10 AM for all students. Once you check in, you will move into your residence hall if you are living on campus. After moving in, please relocate your car to one of the side streets for parking during NSO. Orientation officially begins with the President's Welcome at brunch in the Waves Cafe at 11 AM.
