We have an exciting new online community portal that we're planning to formally launch at the end of the month for Pepperdine alumni, students, faculty, and staff, called PeppConnect. We thought of you because we feel your feedback on its offerings would be really valuable for us as we prepare to introduce it to the broader Pepperdine community.
PeppConnect will be an online space exclusive to the Pepperdine community but integrates with LinkedIn, so it doesn't require setting up yet another separate login/account.
We'll be launching the portal with a variety of industry-based groups that make it easy for Waves to connect with one another, and the search functionality will be a solid way to find and reach other alumni. At least as compelling are the job postings not only from Pepperdine but also those posted directly by alumni for their own organizations.
Finally, we're excited about the mentor-matching element that allows students and alumni to search for alumni and other Pepperdine users who have indicated in their profiles that they're willing to help others out in various ways (e.g., informational interviews, job shadowing, coffee chats, opening employment doors in their organization, making introductions to other people, etc.).
We also think that you would be an excellent Ambassador in this community post-launch for helping to encourage others to connect, and I'd like to ask if you're willing to join us for a brief web meeting during one of the following couple times to get an introduction to PeppConnect:
- July 10th @ 9:00AM: https://engage.pepperdine.edu/s/lt-event?id=a2n61000000dULwAAM
- July 12th @ 12:00PM: https://engage.pepperdine.edu/s/lt-event?id=a2n61000000dUM6AAM
Would you please email me to let me know if you're willing to join us for one of these two times, and then
just use the appropriate link above to directly register for the web meeting of your choice?
I'm energized by the prospects of what PeppConnect will do to connect alumni, students, faculty, staff, and other members of the Pepperdine family in meaningful ways, especially in the context of guiding current students and providing a dynamic, supportive professional network for our alumni. I hope you will be a part of it!
Let me know if you have any questions, and I hope to hear from you soon.
