Welcome from the Vice President for Student Affairs
Pepperdine is a community created to help you build a life of purpose, service, and leadership. The academic experience is a huge part of that journey, but we also know that what happens outside of the classroom is critical to your learning and growth. That's where Student Affairs comes in.
Many of the services you may need to attend to your physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being and growth while you are at Pepperdine are provided by Student Affairs. We are also excited about offering opportunities for a variety of activities and meaningful experiences. We hope these will help you have a rich sense of connectedness and belonging while you are here and will lead you to feel invited to contribute, to make a difference at Pepperdine and beyond.
In this season of stress and anxiety in the lives of many students, Student Affairs is leading the RISE (Resilience-informed Skills Education) program to students to have the skills to face adversity in a way that prepares them to have less suffering in the short run and truly become resilient leaders throughout their lives.
In this season of escalating cries for racial justice, Student Affairs stands against racism. Our Christian faith compels us to believe that compassion, empathy, empowerment, and advancement of the marginalized are called for if there is to be a true community of belonging here. We believe each one of us has a role and responsibility in making that happen. Join us!
Wishing you God's richest blessing on the journey,
Connie Horton, PhD
Vice President for Student Affairs
