About the Leaven Journal

LEAVEN is a non-profit journal published quarterly by the Pepperdine Religion and Philosophy Division that exists to help fellow Christians think together about the challenges of ministry. The journal's objective is to make theological reflection about Christian ministry accessible to the modern reader. Content is aimed at those with no formal training in biblical, historical, theological, or pastoral studies; yet it is written by thinkers trained in the standards of scholarship and ministry, reflecting high technical accomplishment, and thereby forming a body of knowledge to be shared by anyone engaged in Christian ministry. LEAVEN's board, guest editors, and writers constitute women and men from diverse cultural backgrounds committed to the ministry of Christ in a broken world.
