Apply to Fine Arts

Welcome to your application process for Pepperdine Fine Arts. All applicants to the Music and Theatre department are required to submit a supplemental application through the Pepperdine Application Portal, and applicants to the Art program have the option to submit a supplemental application in order to be considered for additional scholarships. If you select interest in a Fine Arts major or minor or indicate interest in one of our music ensembles as part of your CommonApp submission to Seaver College then you will be given access to your supplementary Fine Arts Application within your Pepperdine Application Portal.

Live Audition Dates:

A live audition is only required for applicants pursuing Instrumental Performance, but is strongly recommended for all applicants within the Music and Theatre departments. 

Live Auditions for the 2024-2025 academic year will be facilitated both in-person and on Zoom. Audition sign-ups are available in an online registration format. We are offering Live Auditions on the following dates. 

  • October 28: This Audition Day is only for applicants wishing to be considered under the early action deadline. Please note that this Audition Day will be virtual only, and hosted over Zoom. No in-person auditions will be offered. This Audition Day is for all applicants wishing to be considered under the regular decision deadline. Students will receive instructions regarding the Zoom session after registering for an audition date. Registration is now open.
  • November 11: This Audition Day is only for applicants wishing to be considered under the early action deadline. This Audition Day is for all applicants wishing to be considered under the regular decision deadline. Auditions are offered both virtually or in-person. For those auditioning/interviewing online, students will receive instructions regarding the Zoom session after registering for an audition date. Registration is now open.
  • January 13: Please note that this Audition Day will be virtual only, and hosted over Zoom. No in-person auditions will be offered. This Audition Day is for all applicants wishing to be considered under the regular decision deadline. Students will receive instructions regarding the Zoom session after registering for an audition date. Registration is now open.
  • January 27: This Audition Day is for all applicants wishing to be considered under the regular decision deadline. Auditions are offered both virtually or in-person. For those auditioning/interviewing online, students will receive instructions regarding the Zoom session after registering for an audition date. Registration is now open.

Please note that while an in-person audition is not required for some departments, the supplemental materials are necessary for all applicants. The supplemental Fine Arts application must be completed at least 72 hours prior to your scheduled audition day, and prior to the January 24 deadline. 

Keep in mind, live auditions should be completed within the same Common App season to avoid any difficulties with the admissions process. Example: If you are applying to Seaver College during Early Action, and wish to participate in a live audition, you will want to register for the October or November audition. Do not reserve a January audition date as they fall within the Regular Decision season.

Please do not register for multiple auditions on the same day. If you are interested in multiple areas, you will likely only need to audition once and can still be considered for multiple programs. Please contact the Fine Arts Recruitment Office and we can help you determine which audition to pursue. 

If you are interested in participating in a Portfolio Review with the art department, please register for the Audition Days on either November 11 or January 27. We are not currently offering Portfolio Reviews on our other Audition Days.

Studio Art Majors:

Submitting a supplemental portfolio is strongly recommended for maximum consideration for acceptance. It is also required in order to be considered for Studio Art scholarships. The portfolio should include up to 20 high quality images (2 MB max) of original artwork created solely by the student.

Additional components include:

  • Art resume
  • Artist statement
  • Portfolio description: one-page document describing each work (title, media, size)
