Audition Requirements for Voice

Please read the following instructions carefully in preparation for your Vocal audition. All materials must be submitted via the supplemental Fine Arts application. 

For your audition, you are required to prepare three songs in varying styles and/or tempi. Two (2) songs must be from the classical repertoire - one (1) in a foreign language; one (1) an American or English art song. The third song may be from the Musical Theatre Repertoire. Songs must be memorized and performed with an accompanist, which will be provided for you at no additional cost. You may bring your own accompanist if you prefer. Please provide musical scores or readable copies of your music for the accompanist. Those auditioning virtually may perform with pre-recorded accompaniment.

Each applicant to the vocal performance program is also required to participate in a brief interview with the vocal faculty. Participating in a live audition day, either virtually or in-person, will fulfill this requirement. If you are unable to participate in a live audition day, please reach out to the Fine Arts Recruitment Office to schedule your interview.
