Senior Art Exhibit 2003: Kevin Estrada
As I began this series, I intended to express the power and fire of the great animals
of Africa. While in the pursuit of these expressions I found myself drifting into
another area of painting, an area less figurative. The paintings became more of an
idea of what to expect rather than the thought already shown with nothing else to
marvel about. As I progress into these new regions of painting, I hope to capture
new notions as I make my blunders in my next series of paintings because it's in the
blunders of things that art is created. A painting is never finished without them
being a part of it.
