On-Campus Resources

Pepperdine offers University-wide initiatives designed to build and model a diverse, informed, loving, and unified community and to further cultivate a deep sense of belonging at the University. 

  First-Generation

The First Wave Program offers resources and tools to help first-generation students thrive throughout their academic journey at Seaver College. Students that identify as being first-generation are invited to attend the events, utilize the resources outlined on this page, and connect with faculty, staff, and administrators to gain key insights into the tools necessary for academic success.

  Intercultural Affairs

The Intercultural Affairs Office (ICA) strives to connect, engage, and inspire Seaver College students through effective, educational programs, services, and experiences that promote academic success and holistic development; build a diverse community of respect, learning, understanding, equity, and inclusion; and cultivate skills, friendships, and leadership capacity through meaningful engagement with peers, faculty, staff, and local communities. Together, these strategies aim to educate and prepare culturally competent graduates for purposeful lives devoted to Christian discipleship, service, mercy, and justice in local, national, and global contexts.

  Office of International Student Services

The Office of International Students Services (OISS) values our international students for what they bring to our campus – diversity, global perspective, cultural respect, determination, and a wonderful sense of adventure. We welcome students from all nationalities, faiths, and education systems, as you provide a diverse perspective in our classrooms.

  Office of Student Accessibility

The Office of Student Accessibility (OSA) seeks to accommodate students with documented disabilities to allow them equal standing in educational endeavors. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), along with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, were enacted to provide a clear and comprehensive mandate for the elimination of discrimination against individuals with disabilities. In compliance with these laws, Student Accessibility at Pepperdine University is dedicated to maintaining an environment that guarantees students with disabilities full access to its educational programs, activities, and facilities. INROADS - The mission of INROADS is to develop and place talented underserved youth in business and industry, and prepare them for corporate and community leadership.

Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) - Equips and emboldens high-achieving women and men from underrepresented communities—African American, Latinx, and Native American—to realize their full potential, to make a mark, and make a difference.

Minority Access Minority Access Incorporated - Assists individuals, academic institutions, Federal, state, and local government agencies, and corporations of all kinds in diversifying their campuses and work sites.

National Association of Mathematicians (NAM) - Non-profit professional organization in the mathematical sciences with membership open to all persons interested in the mission and purpose of NAM which are: promoting excellence in the mathematical sciences and promoting the mathematical development of all underrepresented minorities

Black Career Women's Network - A national career development organization dedicated to fostering the professional growth and success of Black women.

Black Retail Action Group (BRAG) Summer Internship - Prepares and educates professionals, entrepreneurs, and students of color for executive leadership in retail, fashion, and related industries. A comprehensive paid 8-10 week professional development program for students of color designed to expose high potential rising college juniors and seniors in the business of fashion including, but not limited to buying, design, digital, human resources, marketing, merchandising, planning, store management, and technology.

Congressional Black Caucus Foundation - A nonprofit nonpartisan public policy, research, and educational institute that seeks to advance the global black community.

Mathematically Gifted and Black, A website that highlights the contributions, accomplishments, and lives of Black Scholars in the Mathematical Sciences.

National Association of Black Journalists Internships - NABJ offers summer internships annually to college students interested in pursuing a career in journalism. Students gain paid hands-on training in reporting, editing, photography, graphic design, video production, and public relations at various U.S. news organizations. 

National Urban League - Supports African-Americans and others in underserved communities to achieve their highest true social parity, economic self-reliance, power, and civil rights. They offer an online job board to help you find jobs, get training, and obtain rewarding careers.

Pepperdine Black Alumni Group - The Pepperdine Black Alumni Group is committed to serving and coalescing African American alumni for the benefit of advancing the commonality of interests of the University while focusing on creating opportunities, and offering resources to African American alumni, students, and the community at large. 

UNCF: United Negro College Fund - America's largest private scholarship provider to minority students.

Asia Society - A leading educational organization dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening partnerships among peoples, leaders, and institutions of Asia and the United States through arts, education, policy, and business outreach.
