Amphitheatre
A student-led devotional and time of worship, Celebration Chapel is a great opportunity
for fellowship and praise.

11:00am - Noon Adamson House Tour
Seaver Main Lot
Explore this classic Southern California home that sits on one of the most beautiful
beaches in the state. The Adamson House was, for a time, home to Pepperdine President
Norvel Young and his family. Shuttles are available in the main lot in front of Smothers
Theatre. Limited space available. Please sign up at the check-in table.

11:00am - 5:00pm Frederick R. Weisman Museum: California Dreaming
Weisman Museum (Adjacent to Smothers Theatre)
This exhibition celebrates the dynamic styles found in contemporary California art from the 1960s to the present.
It marks the 25th anniversary of the Weisman Museum of Art.

Noon - 2:00pm Lunch (Included in Seaver College Families Registration)
Waves Cafe
Join alumni, families, faculty, staff and students for lunch in the "caf." This meal is
included in the "Seaver College Families All Weekend registration." Meal includes
one main entree, one dessert and one medium fountain soda or 20 oz bottled
water.

Noon - 3:00pm Women's Volleyball vs. Santa Clara
Firestone Fieldhouse
Cheer on the Waves as the Women's Volleyball team takes on Santa Clara. Purchase tickets at the ticket office.

Andrew and Debby Benton, president and first lady of Pepperdine, welcome Waves Weekend guests to a casual, come-and-go reception in their home where hor d'oeuvres will be served.

Join us as we kickoff the Waves men's and women's basketball seasons! Celebrated
as one of Pepperdine's greatest traditions, this ultimate pump-up event will include
team introductions, student and fan contests and prizes as well as the chance for one
lucky student and one lucky parent to win a year of free tuition by making a half-court
shot. You don't want to miss it!

9:00am - 10:25am Devotional and Prayer Walk
Stauffer Chapel
Pepperdine constantly seeks the counsel, wisdom, and guidance of God
through prayer among the members of our local community. We invite
parents, students, alumni, and friends to join us in a prayer walk beginning at
the Stauffer Chapel and ending at the Amphitheatre.

9:30am - Noon Ocean Kayaking & Stand Up Paddleboarding
Seaver Main Lot
Join us for two of the most popular ocean activities in Malibu! The staff at Malibu Surf Shack
will give a brief instructional overview of these ocean toys before Campus Recreation staff
leads you out on the water. You'll have the chance to try both kayaks and paddleboards. No
experience necessary. Advanced purchase required.

Gamma Phi Beta members, parents, and alumni are invited to join us for our annual

Noon - 3:00pm Student Journalism 80th Anniversary Reunion

Center for Communication and Business (CCB)
Journalism alumni are invited to join us for a celebration of 80 years of student journalism at Pepperdine. We will honor all former journalism majors and all alumni of Pepperdine Graphic Media (newspaper, online, GNews, GSports, and Currents Magazine). It also connects all NewsWaves, News Center, and TV news alumni from TV3, TV26, and TV32. The celebration will include a luncheon, guest speakers, tours of our newsrooms and studios, and a chance to reconnect with your classmates. Advanced purchase preferred.

1:00pm Pepperdine Wind Ensemble
Smothers Theater
The Pepperdine University Wind Ensemble is comprised of the most talented wind, brass and percussion students on the campus. Its repertoire ranges from traditional band literature, one-on-a part chamber works, world premieres, to contemporary works for wind band. This concert is free and open to the public.

Are you ready to laugh? The Pepperdine Improv Troupe (PIT) will be entertaining the masses at Elkins Auditorium. For 17 years, PIT has been providing comedy and promises to be a hilarious addition to Waves Weekend. Past PIT alumni will be joing this perforamnce as well.

Reunite with your Dorm 3 alumni friends from Fall 1981-Spring 1983 and reminisce about your fun time spent together on campus. Enjoy light refreshments, great conversation, and a tour of your beloved dorm. Advance RSVP preferred.


2:00pm - 4:00pm  Malibu Nature Hike

Meet at Seaver Main Lot
See the remains of what may be the oldest rock cottage in Malibu (1865) and the Robert's house built at the base of a water fall. Explore vegetation types that include riparian, oak woodland, chaparral, coastal sage scrub, and coastal grasslands. If you're observant, you might see California newts, red headed woodpeckers, and what appears to be Darth Vader's house. Solstice Canyon is part of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and is managed by the National Park Service.

2:00pm - 5:00pm Seaver Class Reunions 1987, 1997, 2007
Casa Escobar
Join your fellow classmates from the class years of '97, '87, and '07 for a special reunion at the former Malibu Inn. Shuttles will be available at 1:30pm leaving Seaver Main Lot in front of Smothers Theater. Shuttles will leave Casa Escobar between 4:00pm and 5:00pm and drop guests off directly at Alumni Park for the evening concert. Advance purchase preferred.

Cheer on the Waves Water Polo team as they take on Long Beach in the water. Following the game celebrate a Waves victory on Alumni Park for the Waves Weekend Concert!

4:00pm - 9:00pm Waves Weekend Concert
Alumni Park

Join your Pepperdine Family for the 2017 Waves Weekend Concert!
Doors open at 4:00pm. A valid concert ticket is required
for entrance. Six of LA's favorite food trucks will be available for you to purchase dinner and
snacks with cash or credit card. Please feel free to bring blankets and short lawn chairs to
enjoy the concert in the park. No pets are allowed in the concert venue.
Food is not included in the admission price.
Paid admission to concert venue required for all activities within the concert venue,
including food truck service, the students' Spirit Cup Lip Sync performance, and all other
onstage performances.
4:00pm - 6:30pm Kids Corner
Bring your young children to our Kids Corner, an area for
families with children to enjoy making crafts, playing games, and a fun
inflatable in an area designed just for them.
4:00pm - 8:00pm  Alumni VIP Tent
Join Seaver College and George Pepperdine College Alumni Relations for a
special designated area just for alumni! Join us under the tent on Alumni Park for light refreshments as
you gather before and during the concert. Waves Weekend registration
required for admittance to this event.
4:00pm - 9:00pm  A Taste of L.A.: Favorite Local Food Trucks
Six of LA's favorite food trucks will be available for you to purchase dinner
and snacks.  All food trucks accept both cash and credit cards.
4:30pm  Spirit Cup Lip-Sync Competition
Watch groups compete in the final Spirit Week event with exciting and fun
performances. We will announce the Spirit Cup winners following the lip-sync. Waves
Weekend registration required for admittance to this event.
*Headlining artist will begin approximately at 6:30pm.

9:00pm - 11:00pm     Alumni After Party and Class of 2012 Reunion

Alumni and friends are invited to keep the party going with the Class of 2012 for an after hours celebration at one of Malibu's newest night spots, Tavern 1! While the Class of 2012 is celebrating their 5th Reunion, all Seaver Alumni are invited to join the party for this fun after hours event! Advance RSVP requested, $10 at the door.

A highlight every year for the Department of Athletics is its annual Hall of Fame Ceremony,
where the most accomplished student-athletes and coaches in the program's history are
celebrated. A new list of honorees will join more than 100 Pepperdine greats that have already
been inducted. Advance purchase required.
