Student Journalism 80th Anniversary Reunion

Saturday, October 14, 2017 - 12PM-3PM

Center for Communication and Business Building - Malibu Campus

Eighty years ago, as George Pepperdine College opened its doors to its very first incoming class, the Graphic newspaper hit campus stands. This fall as Pepperdine University marks its 80th birthday, so too, does a long legacy of student journalism on campus. To celebrate this milestone, Pepperdine Graphic Media and NewsWaves will be hosting a reunion for all student journalists who have passed through our newsrooms and/or classrooms. Please join us Saturday, October 14 from noon to 3PM on the lawn of the Center for Communication and Business for a luncheon and celebration ceremony.

As part of this celebration, the University will honor alumnus Bill Weir ('90) as our first-ever Alumni of Excellence honoree. Bill has built an outstanding career reporting around the country from his early days as a Graphic editor, to Good Morning America, to his current job at CNN, and his series The Wonder List. Bill will deliver the keynote speech at the 80th anniversary luncheon.

Registration includes lunch and a t-shirt.
