"I came to Pepperdine looking for more. I wanted to learn and better myself in a deliberate manner. Pepperdine is certainly smaller and a bit quieter than many other universities, but never have I felt more enabled and supported to grow."
Hometown: Winchester, VA
Transferred From: University of Alaska, Anchorage
Major: International Business
"Congratulations on your decision to transfer; I'm glad you have decided to consider joining us! My name is Dimitri Smith and I'm a 25-year-old, married, student veteran studying International Business. I live through the canyon and commute to class every day, however, I spend plenty of time on campus and feel like I practically live here. A few of my experiences have been a bit different, but I try to incorporate them here to the best of my ability.
I'm in my second year at Pepperdine now, but it was a journey to be where I am today. I grew up in Virginia and first began my college experience at West Virginia University. After completing a year there and then my sophomore year at a community college at home, I spent four years on Active Duty in the Air Force. During that time, I lived in Last Frontier and attended the University of Alaska Anchorage. I found Pepperdine while on a trip to LA and felt that I had finally found what I was looking for.; now the rest is history!
The transfer process can be a lot to navigate through, but the people here will help you with every step along the way. Feel free to ask me whatever questions you have and I'll do my best to find an answer for you I hope to get to meet you and have you as a new addition to our Pepperdine family!"
