Important Dates

Application deadline:

Early Decision February 16 (Application fee waived)
Due to the competitive nature of the program, students are encouraged to apply for Early Decision. To do so, submit a completed application before February 15. Students will be notified of the Admission Committee's decision within 2-3 weeks.

Regular Decision March 16 (*Application fee $40 )
Application deadlines are "postmark" deadlines. Applications must be postmarked by the above dates to be considered. Students using campus mail should make sure to mail their application no later than the application deadline.
*Application fee is waived for Seaver students.

How to Apply

Eligibility:

Students must have:

  • Completed 60 units including Psychology 200 or Sociology 200, or an equivalent
  • Good academic standing at their university
  • 3.0 GPA

Admission to the program is competitive. Admission to the program does not imply later admission to Seaver College or the Straus Institute.

  • Complete the application
  • Review the check-list included in the application instructions and include all documents with your application (references, transcripts, etc).
  • Only completed applications will be considered.
  • Please make checks payable to "Pepperdine University." Include the student's name on the memo line of the check.

If you have a physical or learning disability, please notify the Disability Services Office at least four weeks in advance of the start of the program for which you are applying, so that we may make any necessary accommodations for you.

Tuition:

Tuition for the 2009 program, at 16 units was $17,280. (2010 tuition will be announced in mid-December 2009).
This is tuition only and does not include room, board, or books. Subject to slight changes if a student chooses to take 14 or15 units as opposed to 16.

Financial Assistance:

Seaver Students are eligible for the same financial assistance as if they were enrolled in any other Seaver Summer School courses.

Non-Seaver Students: your financial assistance should be coordinated with your home institution, you will need to contact your home school directly and they will process your financial aid.

Deposit: $250
Once a Non-Seaver student is admitted to the program, a $250 non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit is applied to the tuition. Non-Seaver students will be notified of the deposit and tuition deadlines in the acceptance letter. Seaver students are not required to make a deposit.

Tuition Refund:

Consideration for refund of tuition requires written notice from the student to the OneStop Office of the student's intention to drop a course or withdraw from the University. The refund schedule for 2 or 4 week classes as applicable, will be followed. Any student dismissed from the Undergraduate Certificate Program in Conflict Management for academic, social, or residential violations will receive no refunds of any deposits, tuition, or fees.

Check In and Out:

Students are asked to check in and out of housing on the scheduled days.  Do not plan to check in early or check out late as on-campus housing will not be available.
