Recruiters travel from across the country just
to see you. Step up and say "hello!"
-
Before the Fair – Learn about the
companies by visiting websites, writing your resume, and ironing
your best looking clothes. Practice your 30 second
introduction.
"Good afternoon. My name is Jane Doe. I'm a senior, math
major interested in the biotech industry. I reviewed your
website and am interested in learning more about the
opportunities in sales and management..."
-
During the Fair – Introduce yourself
and ask questions with confidence.
Remember, at a Career Fair, you are
interviewing them. During your conversations
distribute business cards and your resume.
-
After the Fair – Follow-up with "thank you"
cards.
Resumes: The Career Center provides
many resources to help you write your resume. Start with the
downloadable Resume Guide
and come in any time to visit the Career Ambassadors or make
an appointment with Career Counselors. To make appointment,
call x.4184.
Attire: According to a national
study, over 50% of employers expect students to dress
business casual at Career Fairs. Take this advice and dress
for the position you want, not the one you have.
