The internet has become a fundamental part of the job search process.  As a result finding a job has become easier and more difficult at the same time!  The Career Center has developed the following resources to help you in your job search process.  Use these resources as a place to start then schedule an appointment with a Career Counselor to talk more about your job search.

       

PEPPERDINE RESOURCES
 

On-campus interviews

Offered in the fall and spring.  These are posted by employers throughout the semester, so check the career center website regularly for Calendar of Events

 

Management Leadership Training Programs

 

Many companies hire recent graduates for entry-level management positions in a variety of areas such as business, communications, and human resources.  These are rotational programs in that they provide extensive training throughout the company for a period of 1-2 years.  You will find internships too.

Career Fairs

Employers come to campus to recruit for internships (fall) and jobs (spring).  The Career Center website allows you to register and to see a list of participating employers. 

Employer Information Sessions

Employers often come to campus to set up information tables or host an information session. Go meet them! (dress professionally and bring a resume)

Internships

If it is not yet spring semester of senior year, consider doing an internship!

Many internships can lead to full time employment.

Speak to your professors and let them know what you are looking for. 
 

Career Coaching

This program takes place throughout the Fall semester and is intended to promote career development and to improve job search success. Selected participants are paired with mentors (business professionals in a variety of fields) based on shared interests.

  • Use Keywords for the job search

  • Be focused: If you find something interesting, bookmark it.

  • Develop a Research Strategy
    Decide in advance how much time you will spend.

  • Keep track of the information you find – bookmark relevant sites

  • Set goals. Be specific – I will research 2 companies in 1 hour.

  • Many companies request applicants to apply online
