What is a Mock Interview?
A mock interview is an opportunity for you
to actively experience the interview process without
the potential for an actual position. Mock interviews
are used to help students prepare for the interviewing
experience while gaining valuable feedback about their
personal style and interview answers. You are
expected to dress and prepare for the mock interview
in the same way you will for the actual interview. We
have found that students who practice interviewing
before the big day tend to be more confident and
successful in the interview process.
Who
will be interviewing me?
Our career counselors are available to meet
with you at any point in the semester to provide a
mock interview session with you. Mock interviews will
typically last for 25-30 minutes with another 20-30
minutes to review the experience and to provide
feedback. In addition, at particular points during
the school year industry professionals will be
available to conduct a mock interview.
How
should I prepare?
In order to get the most out of the mock
interview experience you should prepare beforehand the
same way you would for an actual interview. If you
have a specific position or industry in mind let us
know ahead of time so we can tailor the mock interview
to your needs. Use our
Interview Guide
to help you prepare.
Can
you help me prepare for things other than job
interviews?
Yes! Our Career Counselors can help you
prepare for graduate, medical and law school
interviews, internship interviews and phone
interviews. In order to help our counselors prepare
please let us know the type of interview when you
schedule your appointment.
How
can I schedule a Mock Interview?
During the fall semester we offer Mock
Interview Days where various industry professionals
will come on campus to offer mock interviews for our
students. For the rest of the school year call the
