Message from the Chair, Randall D. Chesnutt

Randall D. Chesnutt, Chair

Greetings from the Chair

Welcome to the Religion Division at Seaver College. This Division serves various segments of the student body in different ways. At the undergraduate level, all Seaver students take a series of Religion courses designed to familiarize them with the Old and New Testaments and the dynamics of Christianity's interaction with various aspects of culture. The Religion Division also provides degree programs for those wishing to major in Religion, either in preparation for some form of ministry or as a basis for graduate study in Religion or related fields. In addition to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Religion, the Religion Division maintains a small graduate program with courses of study leading to the Master of Arts (M.A.), Master of Science in Ministry (M.S.), and Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degrees.

The faculty of the Religion Division is committed to making the educational experience as meaningful and enriching as possible. All faculty members are engaged in scholarly research and writing that enriches the classroom experience and sometimes involves students directly in scholarly research. The Religion faculty is also committed to serving the church and maintaining close and vibrant ties between the academy and the church. If this integrated approach of faith, learning, and service appeals to you and you would like to consider studying Religion at Pepperdine, please feel free to contact us. We will try to answer any questions and help in any way we can.

Sincerely,

Signature of Randall D. Chesnutt
