Greetings to all Seaver Parents!
As the Parents Program reflects back on this past semester, we are overjoyed with the number of parent volunteers who gave of their time to help represent Pepperdine at several events. Below you will see a summary of the many activities that took place this year. We encourage you to take part in something happening in your own hometown this year--whether it is an afternoon tea with fellow moms, an admissions event, or an alumni event--you are all part of the Pepperdine family, and for that we are so grateful.

- Waves Weekend formerly known as Family Weekend
- The Annual Wave Classic Golf Tournament
- Seaver Parents Council Outreach Events
- Summer Send-off Parties

- SWAPP "Sealed with a Parents Prayer" Day of Prayer
Seaver Parents Council members help support Pepperdine's Office of Admission as they host annual admission sessions in cities across America. The Office of Admission depends on current parents and alumni to spread the word about their own experiences at Pepperdine and give prospective students and parents a bit of insight into the University. Our Seaver parent volunteers from the Outreach Committee do a wonderful job welcoming and introducing the prospective students and their families in their area into the Pepperdine family. We extend our sincere thanks to each parent that plays such an important role in these sessions.

Waves Weekend is October 13-15, 2017.
Look for sign-up information beginning in August on the "Get Involved" portion of our web site and our monthly Parents Program Newsletter email if you would like to volunteer to help.
For more than fifteen years, the Pepperdine Wave Classic Golf Tournament has provided support for student scholarships, academic enrichment, career preparation programs, and the men's and women's golf teams. Last year marked $2.5 million plus in total funds raised!
The Pepperdine Wave Classic Golf Tournament will took place on Monday, October 17, 2016. We are grateful to our parent sponsors, auction donors, and volunteers for making this a highly successful event.
On behalf of our tournament hosts, the Seaver Parents Council and the Seaver Board of Visitors, we thank you for your support of Pepperdine University students and we look forward to celebrating our 19th year with you on October 9, 2017.

Several outreach events take place each year including afternoon teas held for moms and families of Pepperdine students and alumna of Seaver College. These events are the perfect way for families to share about the Pepperdine experience, and get to know others from their area. If you would like to organize a special event in your hometown, please contact Kim and Christine in the Seaver Parents Program at (310) 506-4617 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition, Seaver College parents are always welcome at any alumni events taking place throughout the nation. Visit the alumni news and events page to see the latest.
The Seaver Parents Program is looking for current parents, alumni, and friends to host summer send-off parties in 2017! Many of you probably remember the feeling of sending your son or daughter off to Pepperdine for their freshman year of college--it can be nerve-wracking, stressful and emotional for many families. Through the summer send-off parties, we strive to alleviate some of these feelings by gathering students together prior to their departure from Pepperdine. We have found that it helps to know a few familiar faces from a student's own hometown before coming to college in August. If you would like to host an event in your hometown, please contact Christine in the Seaver Parents Program at (310) 506-6334 or Christine.Galvin@pepperdine.edu.
Please take a moment to join or renew your membership to the Seaver Parents Council by completing the volunteer interest form. As a member of the Parents Council, you will be kept up to date with events happening in your area and on campus. There are many ways to get involved! And we would love to continue to have you involved in regional events even if your student has graduated. Please join today!
The Parents Program team hosted a Day of Prayer during NSO 2016. We covered the campus in prayer again during Waves Weekend. We call it SWAPP Day. SWAPP stands for, "Sealed with a Parent's Prayer."
For those of you further afield, we invite you to gather in groups off campus according to your location. Please prayerfully consider hosting a regional prayer site in your home. We know this is a wonderful opportunity for Seaver College parents to enjoy one another's fellowship.
Whether you pray on your own, in a group with other parents, or with us on campus, your presence is wanted and encouraged. We know you will be blessed by the time you invest in our parents day of prayer.
Father of Love, help these young adults grow in gratitude to you. Help them to find you in their busy lives. Help us to affirm them and support them with love, that they might recognize authentic faith and love, and turn to you in their time of need.
