Technology Recommendations for New Students

To take full advantage of all the University services, students should carefully consider which computers and phones to bring to campus.

Computer Specifications

Students are encouraged to bring a laptop computer for use on campus. Pepperdine operates its own Computer Store, where students can get advice on purchasing laptops, printers, and software. Feel free to visit our online store or call (310) 506-4811.

Anti-Virus Software

Pepperdine requires anti-virus software on all student computers. The University provides Trend Micro™ anti-virus software at no additional charge to students. Prior to the start of the fall semester an e-mail announcement will be sent to notify students that the software is available for download and installation.

Cellular Phone Coverage

Cell phone coverage on the Malibu campus is limited to selected vendors.

Telephones in Residences

The University provides telephone service in each residential room, but students need to bring their own phones.
