Insurance

Each academic year all new and returning students in Seaver College, both domestic and international, are required to either provide proof of U.S. based health insurance coverage through the online waiver system OR enroll in the Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). Students who choose not to enroll in SHIP must provide proof of U.S. based health insurance coverage through the online waiver system and may access it by clicking here. The online waiver system is open May 15- September 5, 2018.

Waiver Submission and Premium charges for SHIP:

For waiver submission and posting date information for insurance charges, please review SHIP enrollment and term payments posted on the following link: http://community.pepperdine.edu/healthcenter/insurance/[BROKEN LINK].

The University requires health care coverage for the purpose of limiting undue financial and academic stress related to illnesses during the academic year. A health policy will assist in meeting not only common illnesses treated at the Student Health Center or at a private physician's office, but also with the financial burden of illness and accidents involving more extensive care.

The University insurance policy through Anthem Blue Cross is compliant to health care reform requirements and has been contracted to include the lowest premium for your benefit; however, you may purchase any policy that has comparable coverage to the University policy. It is highly recommended that insurance coverage include local care close to Malibu. USI Insurance Services facilitates our group policy with Anthem and provides customer service to our students for all insurance matters. A nominal administrative fee is added to the premium to cover University insurance-related services.

If you have any questions regarding the University's student health insurance plan, please call the University's insurance broker, USI Insurance Services, at (800) 853-5899.
