With Thanksgiving now over and December 25 just around the corner, Pepperdine will celebrate the "most wonderful time of the year" with an evening of festivities on Thursday, Nov. 29, including a Christmas dinner, a tree lighting ceremony, and a Christmas concert performed by Pepperdine's choir and orchestra.
To kick-start the Yuletide events, Santa and Mrs. Claus will visit Waves Café during the annual Christmas dinner at 4:30 p.m.
At 6 p.m. in Joslyn Plaza, the fourth annual Christmas tree lighting will take place, featuring festive music, hot cocoa, apple cider, and Christmas treats.
To cap off the evening at 7:30 p.m. in Smothers Theatre, the Pepperdine choirs and orchestra will join together to perform the annual Christmas Concert, accompanied by pianist Kevin Fukagawa. Ryan Board and Tony Cason will direct the concert of seasonal favorites, including the carols In the Bleak Midwinter, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing, and O Come, All Ye Faithful!, as well as the holiday classic Jingle Bells. Learn more here.
In addition, the Ventura County Waves and the Pepperdine Associates will partner to host a holiday reception in the Kresge Room of Payson Library, Malibu, overlooking the tree lighting event, from 5 p.m. Entry is free, and the event will support the Salvation Army of Ventura through donations of Guitar Center gift cards. Register online to join this event and to purchase a gift card.
