The MFA program in Screen and Television Writing, and its official screenwriting club Courier 12, will host its annual fall Literary Arts Festival on Thursday, Dec. 6, showcasing works by student writers and filmmakers. The event will begin at 7 p.m. in the Hahn Fireside Room, Malibu, and will include free pizza.
Students will stage readings of their works and screenings of their short films at the event.
"The showcase is an opportunity for these writers to share their work with the broader Pepperdine community," says Leslie Kreiner Wilson, director of the MFA program. "It's also our Christmas party, so there'll be plenty of free pizza and good cheer!"
The program launched in 2008, taking a values-centered approach to nurturing and supporting the storyteller as cultural leader.
"The mission of the MFA program is to train, nurture, and support writers as they work to make a positive global impact. We encourage students to write work rife with vision and purpose, courage and conviction," Kreiner Wilson adds.
