| In addition to the general education requirements, a candidate for the
bachelor of arts degree in sports medicine must also complete lower- and upper-
division course work in the major. Depending upon entering mathematics competency,
the lower-division requirements consist of six or seven courses totaling between 17
and 21 units. The upper-division requirements consist of nine courses that total 34 units.

Freshman-Year Program
In the freshman year, the bachelor of arts in sports medicine major should
enroll in the general education program and SPME 110, SPME/BIOL 230, PE 201 and MATH 103.
