The National Collegiate Italian Honorary Society, Gamma Kappa Alpha, seeks to recognize excellence in the study of Italian and provide a higher incentive for higher scholarship. The society aims to promote the study of the Italian language, literature, film and culture.
Requirements for Membership:
Membership is open to all juniors, seniors, or graduate students seeking a major or minor in Italian at Pepperdine University. Applicants must have at least a 3.5 Italian GPA and at least a 3.0 overall GPA. No university student may be denied membership on the basis of race, creed, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, parental status, disability, or the inability to pay dues.
We are involved in the campus and local communities through various activities promoted through the C.I.A.O. Italian Club on Campus.

The purposes of this society are: To honor those who attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language and in the study of the literature and culture of the Spanish-speaking peoples; To honor those who have made the Hispanic contributions to modern culture better known in the English-speaking world; To encourage college and university students to acquire a greater interest in and a deeper understanding of Hispanic culture; To foster friendly relations and mutual respect between the nations of Hispanic speech and those of English speech; To serve its membership in ways which will contribute to the attainment of the goals and ideals of the society.

The purpose of this society shall be (1) to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and its literature; (2) to increase the knowledge and appreciation of Americans for the cultural contributions of the French-speaking world; (3) to stimulate and encourage French cultural activities.
Regular membership includes graduate and undergraduate students who shall be nominated in recognition of their academic achievement in at least one semester of upper division French. They shall have completed at least three semesters or five quarters of the college course with a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in French courses and rank in the top 35% of their class.

The National German Honorary Society, Delta Phi Alpha, seeks to recognize excellence in the study of German and provide a higher incentive for higher scholarship. The society aims to promote the study of the German language, literature, and civilization and endeavors to emphasize those aspects of German life and culture which are of universal value and which contribute to man's eternal search for peace and truth.

The purpose of Sigma Iota Rho is to acknowledge the scholastic achievement of Pepperdine University's students, while providing them with a network in which to interact with other International Studies majors, faculty, and industry leaders. The organization is open to any Pepperdine University student as long as he/she abides by the chapter's constitution and upholds Pepperdine University Seaver College's Moral Code of Ethics.
