Africa Summer Program

The Africa program examines themes of democratization, development, and conflict in sub-Saharan Africa. Using South Africa and Swaziland as a "field laboratory," the 5-week course provides students with an understanding of the political, economic, and cultural impact of globalization on the developing world.

INTS 444 (4 units) "Democratization and Development in Africa" will be offered in conjunction with the program. This course satisfies the GE Non-Western Cultures requirement. The program combines academic instruction with real-world exposure to the issues discussed in class.
