London Religion Program
July 5 - August 1, 2009

Prerequisites: 2.3 minimum GPA and 30 units by the end of Spring 09. Students must meet all prerequisite requirements for each course they intend on taking overseas. Waivers cannot be issued for students to take courses without meeting prerequisite requirements. No exceptions will be made. Registration:
Students will register for their Summer IP courses online in Spring after their contract signing. Textbooks:
Purchase your textbooks before you go overseas. Students are expected to have textbooks the first day of class. Textbooks will be available at the Pepperdine bookstore in Malibu.
Location: The first three weeks of this program will be spent in London in the University-owned house at 56 Prince's Gate, located in London's West End adjacent to Imperial College. Classes will be held in Pepperdine University's London facility. Students will then take an Educational Field Trip to Israel for approximately one week. The first half of the week will likely be devoted to travel in the north of Israel near the Sea of Galilee, visiting cities such as Capernaum, Tel Dan, and perhaps Banias and Beth-Shean. The second half of the trip students will visit Jerusalem in the south of Israel. Sites there would likely include the Western Wall, Al-Aqsa Mosque, Temple Mount, and possibly Jericho, Bethlehem, Qumran, and Masada (Dead Sea). Students will also learn about contemporary peace issues and reconciliation attempts while meeting a few key NGO groups that are involved in peace processes.
Travel: Round-trip travel between LAX and London on a group-flight is included in the program fee as well as travel to and from Israel.
Meals: Most meals will be provided.
Personnel: The Visiting Faculty members will be Professors Chris Soper and Rick Marrs.
Cost: The tuition cost is $1,135 per unit, and each student must take a minimum of 6 units. The International Programs Charge of $4,540 covers orientations, airfare and transfers to and from airports, room, most meals, travel to the Biblical Sites, and other program extras. Textbooks and personal costs, such as individual weekend travel, are not included. Financial Aid is available for eligible students. Optional Add-on: London English Program or London Internship Program
The London English or Internship Program may be combined with the Religion GE Program with program dates being May 5- August 1.

The International Programs Charge of $8,720 covers orientations, airfare and transfers to and from airports, room, most meals, the $100 library stipend, the Biblical Sites Tour, and other program extras. Textbooks and personal costs, such as individual weekend travel, are not included. Financial Aid is available for eligible students. Applying: Students who would like to participate in both programs should apply to the combined London English/Religion Program or the combined London Internship/Religion Program online, but only need to do one interview.
