Intercultural Affairs

Mission

To support the Christian mission of Pepperdine University by creating and preserving an academic, physical, social and spiritual environment where God's creation is celebrated, embraced, and valued.

Vision

To graduate competent young adults who have been effectively and deeply engaged in co-curricular activities aimed at increasing their intercultural awareness, knowledge, and skills.

This mission and vision are fulfilled in three primary ways:

Relationship

Every student is important to the ICA Office. Therefore we seek to build meaningful relationships with any student that desires the same. It is through relationship that the ICA Office can best learn of the needs of students and thereby, assist in meeting those needs.

Co-Curricular Venues

The ICA Office facilitates and sponsors a variety of workshops, seminars, excursions, forums, debates and convocation programs throughout the year. Through the methodology of challenge and support, the programs of the ICA Office enhance the level of intercultural competence of our student body.

Intercultural Competence Workshops

Through the work of the student interns as well as the Director, the ICA Office facilitates workshops, conversations and dialogues in order to promote intercultural understanding between and amongst our students. These workshops frame the structure upon which student leaders can effectively engage in the development of intercultural competence.
