Learning Outcomes - SAAJ Colloquium

  1. Students will develop an understanding of the history, definitions, and current issues related to racism, sexism, abelism, ageism, religious discrimination, and poverty.
  2. Students will develop strong writing and public speaking skills through constructing and presenting a research paper addressing a specific social justice issue and provide tangible ways for the community to address these issues.
  3. Students will discuss and develop their own theology of social justice as they grapple with their own faith as it relates to social justice and the Christian mission.
  4. Students will complete over 100 hours of community service, including a community leadership internship with an organizations in the Los Angeles area, Washington D.C. or overseas in Buenos Aires, London, Shanghai or Lausanne.
