Timeless Questions

For centuries philosophy students have grappled with the basic assumptions that underlie all aspects of life.  Students deal with problems of being and existence, the nature of knowledge, God and religion, and ethics and values.  Pepperdine's philosophy program gives students an understanding of the great thinkers of the ancient, modern, and post-modern age while emphasizing philosophy's method of enquiry.

With its emphasis on logic, problem solving, and cogent writing, the philsophy major is excellent preparation for any profession.  In addition to graduate work in the humanities or theology, many philosophy majors advance to successful careers in law and business.

Because the philosophy degree can easily be a second major, the program complements many other studies, from the natural sciences to business.
