The English program is designed for
students who plan to pursue advanced degrees in English and Creative
Writing, providing emphasis and training on these skills:
- logical thinking and analysis of arguments
- close reading and analysis of texts
- effective writing and speaking skills
If students are interested in attending law school, these skills
will prepare the student for the LSAT. If English majors are
interested in attending law school, the division chairperson can
supply them with a list of courses that should help them succeed in
law school, in addition to their major requirements.
