Bonnie Schindler

A Southern California native, mezzo-soprano Bonnie Snell Schindler continues to enjoy a multi-faceted career on the operatic, concert, and scoring stage. In addition to recent appearances with the Long Beach City College Orchestra and the Golden State Pops, Bonnie has just returned from Hobart, Tasmania where he was the featured soloist in Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 4 and Tomorrow, Op.33, by Erich Wolfgang Korngold (Southern Hemisphere premiere).

Possessing a voice described as “rich, expressive and lustrous”, recent operatic roles include Dorabella (Cosi fan Tutte) with Los Angeles Repertory Opera, Prince Orlovsky (Die Fledermaus) with Intimate Opera, and Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro) with Opera Pasadena. After studying Italian repertoire in Florence, Italy, she earned a Master of Music Degree with an emphasis in vocal performance at UCLA where she portrayed Ramiro in La Finta Giardiniera and the title role in La Perichole. Ms. Schindler created the character of Margaret in The Magician by Jeremy Gillien, and appeared as a featured singer in Do Jump at the Geffen Theatre. She frequently performs with the Los Angeles chamber ensemble Ariadne’s Thread and sings regularly with the Los Angeles Opera Chorus. She may be heard on many recent film scores including Distorted, Vampires: The Turning, and The Velvet Side of Hell. Bonnie is an adjunct professor of voice at Pepperdine University and maintains a private vocal studio from her home in Altadena, California.
