Christopher Parkening Classical
Guitar Information
Thank you for your interest in the Classical Guitar program at
Pepperdine University. Pepperdine University offers a Bachelor of
Arts Degree in Music with an emphasis in one of four specialized
areas: applied music (performance), music education, music
history/literature, and music
theory-composition. The program, accredited by the National
Association of Schools of Music, also includes a rigorous core
curriculum of music theory, music history, as well as private guitar
instruction.
Those applicants who wish to major in music or who wish to be
considered for a music scholarship must audition for the music
faculty, either in person or by recording. All decisions regarding
an applicant’s acceptance into the music program and any bestowed
music award are contingent upon this audition and upon the
applicant’s acceptance into Seaver College.
If you are interested in applying to Pepperdine University as a
Classical Guitar major, you must complete and submit the following:
- A completed online
application
- A completed “music information”
form
- A high-quality audio recording of your performance from
classical guitar repertoire on CD, cassette, DVD or VHS; or you may
audition in person on one of the specified audition days (to be
determined by May, 2008.)
- A list of your classical guitar repertoire
Please return the materials listed above to:
