Loan Exit Counseling Information

LOAN EXIT COUNSELING:

Federal Regulations require all students to complete Exit Loan Counseling Sessions when they graduate, withdraw or drop below half-time status. Failure to complete Exit Loan Counseling Sessions will result in a hold being placed on your academic transcripts.

December graduates - - Your personalized Loan Exit Counseling Packet will be mailed to your campus box during the week of December 5th.  Exit Counseling needs to be completed online; however, it is highly recommended that you also schedule an appointment to go over your loan servicer information with your Financial Assistance Loan Advisor after you complete your online exit counseling sessions.  You can call the Office of Financial Assistance at 310-506-4301 to schedule an appointment or e-mail us by clicking here.

A separate counseling session must be completed online for each type of Federal or Institutional loan borrowed.

STAFFORD LOAN EXIT COUNSELING:

Click here to complete your Federal Stafford Loan Exit Counseling Session online (this site provided by the Department of Education).  You will need your FAFSA pin number in order to log into the online session.  If you do not remember your pin, you can go to www.pin.ed.gov and request a duplicate pin.

PERKINS AND PEPPERDINE INSTITUTIONAL LOAN EXIT COUNSELING:

Click here to complete your Perkins and/or Pepperdine Institutional Loan Exit Counseling Session online (this site provided by ECSI, your billing servicer).

December Graduates - - ECSI will send your ECSI PIN number to your Pepperdine e-mail account during the week of December 5th.  The Office of Financial Assistance does not have access to your ECSI PIN number.  If you have questions regarding your ECSI PIN number, please contact ECSI at 888-549-3274.

LOAN CONSOLIDATION

Federal loan consolidation is a repayment option that can help you reduce your monthly payments by extending your repayment term. It can also combine all of your Federal loans into one payment.  If you are considering consolidating your Federal loans please visit finaid.org to get the facts you need to make an informed decision.

LOAN FORGIVENESS

Loan forgiveness is available under certain circumstances for Federal Educational loans.  For additional information, please visit finaid.org.

If you do not know your Federal loan totals or loan servicer information, you can access your Federal loan (Stafford and Perkins) account information online at the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS) by clicking here or by calling 1-800-4-FED-AID.  This database does not include any Institutional or Private loan amounts.  You can access your Institutional Loan account information at www.ecsi.net or by calling ECSI at 1-888-549-3274.
