Faculty Employment Opportunities

Pepperdine University's Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences, situated in Malibu, California, invites applications for tenure-track and visiting faculty positions that may be available for the 2015-2016 academic year.   Business Administration

Assistant Professor of Decision Science
The Business Administration Division invites applications for a tenure-track position for assistant professor in Decision Science to begin August 1, 2015. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in Decision Science or, if ABD, be expected to complete all requirements for the degree by August 2015. To be successful, candidates must have a commitment to excellent teaching at the undergraduate level, must have the potential to conduct research, and must be actively involved in a faith community. Candidates must demonstrate an active commitment to the University's Christian mission. The Business Administration Division is especially interested in applicants capable of contributing through their teaching, research, and service to the diversity and excellence of the University and our surrounding community. Assistant Professor of Strategic Management
The Business Administration Division invites applications for a tenure-track position in Strategic Management to begin August 1, 2015. A Ph.D. in Management or a closely related discipline is required. Although the primary teaching responsibility will be in strategic management, the ability to teach other management courses is desirable. We seek applicants with an active research agenda and a genuine interest in undergraduate business education. Candidates must demonstrate an active commitment to the University's Christian mission. The Business Administration Division is especially interested in applicants capable of contributing through their teaching, research, and service to the diversity and excellence of the University and our surrounding community. Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting
The Business Administration Division invites applications for a visiting position in Accounting to begin August 1, 2015. We seek a candidate who holds an earned doctorate in accounting or a related discipline at the effective date of employment, August 1, 2015. Candidates are expected to complete all requirements for the Ph.D. before the date of appointment. The successful candidate will show evidence of excellent teaching in financial and intermediate accounting, as well as a contribution to scholarly research. Assistant Professor of Hispanic Studies
The International Studies and Languages Division invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment in Hispanic Studies. Applicants must hold an earned doctorate at the effective date of employment, August 1, 2015, and must have native or near-native fluency in Spanish. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education, a genuine interest in teaching, and support for the Christian Mission of Pepperdine University. Responsibilities include: teaching all levels of Spanish, Spanish phonetics and linguistics, Spanish translation, and history of the Spanish language; maintaining an active commitment to research; committee and other service responsibilities; participation in assessment activities.The deadline for completed applications is November 1, 2014. Assistant Professor of Mathematics
The Natural Science Division invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics for the 2015 - 2016 academic year. Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or will receive a Ph.D. by June 2015) in mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, math education, or other related mathematical disciplines. Well-qualified candidates will be able to contribute to the excellence and vibrancy of the Pepperdine experience through their teaching, mentoring and research, as well as their service to the university, their profession and our surrounding community. As teaching is our foremost emphasis at Seaver College (http://seaver.pepperdine.edu/about/mission/), candidates should demonstrate exceptional interest and effectiveness in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students. Candidates should have the background and ability to teach a broad range of introductory and advanced mathematics courses, including courses for business and science majors. Candidates should also have an active and promising scholarly program. Pepperdine has a strong and well supported program in undergraduate research, and preference will be given to candidates who can actively involve students in their research.
